Finidi Creating A DNA For Enyimba

When Finidi took on the job, he promised to build a team that plays with an identity.

Three matches into his reign, that promise is being fulfilled in the very eyes of the fans and local media.

Football Journalist Bethel Kalu, who covers Enyimba, describes the changes he has seen so far:

For the past three seasons, I’ve never seen this type of dominance from Enyimba. It was total dominance.

You can see a reason for every decision they make on the pitch.

Not yet a perfect side.

The former Ajax star is creating a team and a unit close to his heart.

He is hands-on with the players, and this celebration by Victor Maboma after scoring against Al-Ittihad gives a glimpse.

The Challenge Ahead

“I’m serious. Enyimba should have scored 5 in the first half sef. But you know Nigerian clubs. Hit the woodwork twice.”

The above quote is the concern of an Enyimba fan at the stadium.

Finidi George is creating his identity with the quality of play, but this comes with its challenges.

The chance conversation is a problem for most NPFL teams and has defied solutions.

While this is a challenge, Finidi sees it as an opportunity to improve.

“I know these players know too well that once you miss chances like these, you try to improve in the next game.

“So, I’m not that worried, they know. I’m not going to put too much pressure on the players. If you missed it, you have to work a little harder in training and ensure you get that right. That is what we are going to do.

The NPFL season will commence on December 17th, giving Finidi a chance to further his burgeoning coaching career.
