Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen is poised for a crucial decision in January as Galatasaray, his current club, prepares a £42m bid for his permanent transfer. However, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain’s lingering interest may tempt the Nigerian striker away.
The Nigeria forward impressive start at Galatasaray, with four goals and four assists in seven games, has caught attention. Turkish outlet Sozcu reports Galatasaray’s offer falls short of his release clause.
Football transfer expert Robin Bairner suggests Osimhen may consider big offers, especially from PSG, who need attacking reinforcements due to Randal Kolo Muani’s uncertain future.
“Osimhen has expressed commitment to Galatasaray until season’s end, but a significant offer from PSG, Chelsea, or Arsenal would be hard to ignore,” Bairner stated on the PSG Talk Extra Time podcast. “He’s enjoying life in Turkey, but the prospect of joining a top European club could change his mind.”
Osimhen’s January decision will shape his future, balancing Galatasaray’s commitment with enticing offers from European giants.
Osimhen has formed a strong partnership with Dries Mertens and Mauro Icardi at Galatasaray, though he recently sparked injury concerns after showing signs of discomfort following his match-winning goal in their 2-1 victory over Besiktas last week.
The striker, however, has returned to training after missing three days as a precautionary measure and is expected to feature in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Tottenham, where he’ll be looking to open his European account for the Turkish champions.
