Nigeria’s fastest man, Kanyinsola Ajayi, and Tima Godbless raced to the top of the world list in the 60m in the NCAA.
Kanyinsola Ajayi clocked a big Personal Best (PB) of 6.51s to win his 60m semifinal at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson.
Ajayi, the current Nigeria’s fastest man equals his School Record set by Favour Ashe in 2023 and ties him on the Nigerian all-time list for 4th, alongside Davidson Ezinwa.

Also, the time beats his former personal best of 6.57s set at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex, Clemson, SC (USA) on January 24th, 2025.
It is also the fastest time by an African in 2025 so far, beating Ghana’s Barnabas AGGERH’s time of 6.52s on January 11, 2025.
Only Deji Aliu (6.48), Olusoji Fasuba (6.49), and Tosin Ogunode (6.50) have gone faster than him in history.

Elsewhere, Tima Godbless clocked the third fastest time in the world this year over 60m, powering to a new PB of 7.08s to win her semifinal at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas.
Furthermore, 7.08 ties Godbless with Endurance Ojokolo to become the 4th fastest Nigerian woman in history.
She left former NCAA leader in her wake, Indya Mayberry (TCU) who ran 7.23s to finish 3rd.
Meanwhile, Tima Godbless equaled her 60m Personal Best (PB) In the heats of the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas, clocking a time of 7.14s to win her heat.
She beat Alicia Burnett (Missouri), who ran 7.23s in 2nd, and Natasha Morrison in 3rd with 7.33s. Tina Clayton placed 4th in 7.37s.
