The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has selected two top Nigerian hurdlers, Nathaniel Ezekiel and Tobi Amusan to lead Team Nigeria to the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has released a 15-man team that will represent Nigeria at the 20th World Athletics Championships, scheduled to hold from September 13–21, 2025, at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.
The team comprises seven women and eight men. They will compete across 11 events.
Headlining the team is world record holder in the 100m hurdles, Oluwatobi Amusan, alongside Olympic bronze medalist and long jump queen Ese Brume for the women.
Meanwhile, world challenger, Nathaniel Ezekiel (400m hurdles), and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi (shot put) will lead the men.
Nathaniel has broken his national record five times this year, with the fifth coming in the men’s 400m hurdles at the Silesia Diamond League.
