What a week in football, the Trade deadline has passed, and all teams who deem themselves
contenders have shored up and hunkered down for the rest of the season hoping for a deep
playoff run.

The dream seems to be fading in Chicago while in Detroit the fans firmly believe
this is their season.

The Chiefs are definitely on a winning streak which confounds all as no one
can explain why they are unbeaten still and oh if you smell anything foul it is coming
from the AT&T Stadium in Dallas where the Cowboys just weekly churned out plays that
makes their fans want to throw up.

NFL WEEK 10: unBEARable

The optimism with which the Chicago Bears fan base started the season and their lofty
expectations can be forgiven, they had their star rookie QB Caleb Williams with the no-1 pick in
the draft, and also in the same draft their star rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze, drafted 9th,
they added some experience and quality with the likes of Jaylon Johnson and D’Andre Swift just
to name a few.

Alas, it seems all is crashing in Chicago. They are bottom in the tough NFC North division and three games off second-place Vikings.

Their 19-3 loss to the equally poor New England Patriots marks their 3rd loss in a row and the no 1 drafted rookie has been the worst QB amongst the 1st round rookies drafted who are active.

Williams hasn’t thrown a touchdown in these 3 losses and has been sacked 18 times. Thomas Brown (offensive coordinator) has to find a solution and Matt’s Job isn’t safe too because Chicago’s dreams are dying faster than hope has risen.

CANsas CITY

The Chiefs shouldn’t be unbeaten but yet they are. Except for the Chiefs’ fans, all other fans tune
in every week and root for the opposition to do what hasn’t been done against the Chiefs in
their last 15 games that is win against them.

This season has been more heartbreaking for those fans because there always seems to be hope, till there isn’t just at the last minute. This week wasn’t different. Against one of the best defenses in the league, against a division rival and a very much improved QB, there was hope raised again.

Mahomes was sacked 4 times and in Kansas’ last drive, the Denver defense held the Chiefs to a FG.

Denver had 5 mins on the clock, the ball in their possession, and trailing only by 2. Bo Nix led his team down the field and in the Chiefs, territory with a 35-yard FG range and only a second to play. Enter Wil Lutz, the Denver kicker to kick what will surely lead to victory for the Broncos and hand the Chiefs their first loss of the
season but I should have known better, the chiefs always find a way and that’s what they did when Leo Chenal blew past the Denver wall and then made a diving block that ended the game and gave the Chiefs a 16-14 win.

The perfect season continues leaving Denver with a bitter taste of what could have been on its lips

THE STENCH IN DALLAS

The Dallas Cowboys are a terrible team and that’s a statement of fact. The Eagles defeating
them was expected but seeing that this was a divisional rival I had expected to see them at least
put up a little fight, rather the Cowboys just lay there and died. A 34-6 win for the Eagles
culminated in a 5-game winning streak for the Eagles and a 4-game losing streak for the
Cowboys.

The Cowboys’ last 2 seasons had been 16-1 at home but this season they have lost all 4 home games played. Jerry Jones, the owner/GM is in denial and won’t accept he put his team in this position with the poorly constructed roster but at least after this loss he can accept that the best thing for America’s team is to start planning for next season and perhaps hire a GM to help him with building a decent roster.

BEST OF THE REST

The Buccaneers have lost 4 on the bounce after the 20-23 loss to the 49ers. Baker Mayfield has
been excellent for the Bucs but the loss of some of their key weapons makes it just impossible
to overcome these good teams. On the contrary, the 49ers welcome back Christian McCaffrey
and what a difference it makes to their offense, things are now looking very promising for Kyle
Shanahan and his team with their key players returning to play.

The Steelers are the real deal, Mike Tomlin (head coach) is one of the best in the league and
Russel Wilson has still got it. The Steelers handed the Jayden Daniels Washington Commanders
their first home loss of the season 28-27 thus continuing the record of Mike Tomlin never losing
to a rookie QB. Russel has won all 3 games since he made his debut and the Steelers defense
still very much elite.

The Lions once again reminded us (like we can forget) that they are the best team in football.
This time around it wasn’t in their usual dominant fashion, this game against the Texas was
error ridden.

Goff threw 5 interceptions (he only had 4 in his first 8 games) and they went into the half trailing by 16. The hallmark of a great team is finding ways to win even on your very bad day and that’s what the Detroit Lions did. they scored 19 pts in the second half and their defense did a complete 180 holding the Texas scoreless. If you didn’t believe in their hype before I bet you do now. The lions are the real deal
