Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman’s patience paid off courtesy of a five-minute blitz as his team, Atalanta, secured another win in the UEFA Champions League.
Lookman opened the scoring with his first Champions League goal of the season and assisted the second as Atalanta powered to a crushing 3-0 away victory over Frankfurt.
Lookman’s Patience Pays Off
Ademola Lookman’s first-time attempt struck the right-hand post, and Gianluca Scamacca’s rebound also struck the same position, giving the Eagles a chance to take the lead as the half went on.
The first forty-five minutes ended in a goalless draw despite the early promise.
The impetus changed in the second half as Atalanta stepped up their offensive play. At first, Zetterer held the visitors at bay by running off his line to prevent Lookman from scoring.
The breakthrough, however, came at the hour mark, setting off a powerful 10-minute run. Lookman’s brilliant volley following Charles De Ketelaere’s accurate delivery gave them the lead.
Atalanta’s lead was doubled moments later when Lookman turned provider with a pass that split the opposition and let Éderson tuck the ball under Zetterer.
Three minutes later, Scamacca’s attempt cannoned off the underside of the bar, and De Ketelaere scored on the rebound to give his team the third goal.

Ademola Lookman’s patience pays off on a night Atalanta went in search of redemption in the UCL and hopes it transfers to the Serie A.
