Nigerian wonderkid Joel Ideho is making an impression at Arsenal and he seems to have caught the eye of first team manager, Mikel Arteta.

The 17-year old winger joined the Gunners youth set up in October from Ajax and while he’s spent all of his time the under age teams, he finally has a chance to mix with the first team squad.

Arsenal have a lot of first team players out on interantional duty, thirteen in total, and so Mikel Arteta thought it nice to make up the numbers by inviting some promising youth team players to train with the first team at the clubs training facilty on Thursday.

17-year-old Nigerian, Joel Ideho happened to be one of those invited to train with the senior players who had not been invited for international duty, such as David Luiz, Willian, Rob Holding, Calum Chambers, Shkodran Mustafi to name a few.

Ideho is still trying to settle in at North London, he made his official debut for Arsenal development squad in a 6-0 rout of Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League 2 a week ago and that remains the only game he has played for his new side.

Joel Ideho is eligible to represent the Arsenal first team in the Premier League, League Cup and Emirates FA Cup if Mikel Arteta finds him impressive enough, he has been allocated the number 95 jersey for the competitions.
