Cote D’Ivoire Victorious Yet Again

Impressive baby elephants get another win over the Golden Eaglets who left it late in the WAFU U-17 Cup Tournament at the Stade de Kegue, Lome, Togo. The Eaglets were hoping to produce a remarkable come back after the Ivorians had put three past the Nigerian Goalie Destiny Emuwahem.

Coming into the game the Ivorians have been flawless, winning every game en route to the final. They defeated Nigeria, Niger Republic and helped Nigeria qualify from the group with their 3-1 win against Ghana.

Even though the Baby Etalons of Burkina Faso won their game to secure the tournament’s bronze medal 11-10 penalty shoot out against Niger Republic. They still will not feature at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations taking place in Morocco, March 2021.

Nigeria and Cote d’ívoire will be representing the Western Union in the tournament which is scheduled to take place from the 13th-31st of March. The Ivorians look properly shaped for the continental youth spectacle, but the Nigerians need a change in strategy.
