FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Unmoved, Secures Top 5 in Africa


Nigeria remained static in the latest FIFA ranking after gaining 0.60pts to stay fifth in Africa and 36th in the world.

In the ranking released, Nigeria’s closest rival, Egypt gained 1.60pts but dropped one place.

The ranking means Nigeria will be in pot one of the CAF play-off draws for the 2022 FIFA world cup.

They will avoid top African teams like Algeria, Senegal and Morocco in the CAF 2022 world cup play-off draw.

The thousand game mark has now been passed for 2021.

Equatorial Guinea (114, +12), and Togo (125, +9) are part of the top three highest movers in the ranking.


November’s 120 qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, coupled with 25 friendlies also held this month, have brought the total number of internationals to 1058.
