Flying Eagles Defeat NPFL Side In Test Game
Nigeria’s U-20 national team defeated NPFL side Nasarawa United 4-2 in a test game ahead of WAFU B at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja..
A brace from centre back Chris Nweze in the third and 30th minute was instrumental in getting the Flying Eagles victory in the game.
Nweze gave the Flying Eagles the lead in the 3rd minute when he headed home from a Mike Zaruma corner kick.
Nasarawa United equalized through Abdullahi Aliyu in the 17th minute before Azeez Oseni restored the lead in the 20th minute.
Silas Nwankwo brought Nasarawa United back into the game in the 27th minute before a penalty from Nweze put The Flying Eagles back in the lead.
Wisdom Ubani’s goal in the 50th minute ensured the Ladan Bosso coached flying eagles got the victory in the game.
The Flying Eagles remain unbeaten in six test games so far.
Furthermore, Togo has withdrawn from hosting the WAFU U-20 qualifying tournament citing COVID19 worries.
Also, WAFU insist tournament will go on as scheduled as they are shopping for a new host.
