Imaobong Uko: 17-Year Old Nigerian Track Sensation Listed For World Relays

17-year-old Nigerian sprinter Imaobong Nse Uko will be the youngest athlete at the world relays holding in Poland.
Imaobong won the 400m race in 51.70 (PB) at the National Sports Festival held this month in Edo State.
The National Sports Festival 400m Champion, Imaobong Uko is the youngest athlete from all countries, that will compete at the World Athletics Relays.

Imaobong is listed in the women’s 4X400m event and also in the 4x400m mixed relay team for Nigeria.
As a result of making the list, she will run alongside known quarter millers like Patience Okon-George, Chidi Ikezie and others.

The competition will take place in Silesia, Poland from May 1-2 but Nigeria is not sure of participating yet.
If the Nigerian team makes it to Poland, it’ll be her first international competition at any age level.
Nigeria Athletics is currently having leadership crisis, but the World Athletics, and the Confederation of African Athletics is currently mediating a solution.
Furthermore all country finalists in each event will have automatic qualification in the relays for the Olympics.
