With a 12th goal of the season and a valuation on the rise, Taiwo Awoniyi has hit a new milestone.
Taiwo Awoniyi ran onto a loose pass to score the only goal in Union Berlin’s 1-0 win over FC Koln.
The goal, his 12th so far, puts him as Union Berlin’s joint-highest goalscorer in a single Bundesliga season.
Awoniyi became the hero for Union Berlin as his goal helped his club to a 1-0 victory over FC Koln in the Bundesliga.
Also, he hits a new milestone as the club’s all-time top-scorer in the Bundesliga with 17 goals in two seasons.
The Super Eagles striker‘s 15 goals are four goals more than Sebastian Andersson’s 11 goals in the second position.
With an impressive scoring frequency of one Bundesliga goal every 151 minutes, working out at 0.5 per game, Awoniyi is Union’s top scorer so far.
The former Liverpool striker is also the joint-sixth best in the league.
Awoniyi ranks in the top 9% for non-penalty expected goals per 90 (0.58) among strikers in Europe’s top five leagues and continental competitions.
Most impressively, he ranks in the top 3% for successful pressure percentage per 90 (32.1%)
However, due to Awoniyi’s impressive form, the 24-year-old’s market valuation has risen to £13.5m.
The £13.5m is a 131% increase on the transfer fee Union Berlin paid Liverpool for its services.
