Debut Scorers

Three players scored their first goals for Nigeria in the historic win over Sao Tome and Principe. The first player to open his Nigerian goalscoring account was Terem Moffi.

Before today, the Lorient striker had made six appearances for the Super Eagles without a goal to his name. He scored his first goal in the first half and then displayed some composure to record his second in the second half.

Also, Ademola Lookman scored his first goal for Nigeria. The Leicester City forward wasn’t at his best against Sao Tome and Principe but managed to score after the ball fell kindly to him in the box. That was Lookman’s first goal in three appearances for Nigeria.
