William Troost-Ekong will finally fulfil a lifelong dream after Watford beat Millwall to secure a return to the Premier League.
Troost-Ekong was a player with the Tottenham youth team, but did not make the step up to the senior team.
After paying his dues around Europe, he signed for Watford from Italian Serie A side, Udinese.
However, the move was seen as a downgrade, but he will now be playing the English premier league after Watford Fc picked one of two automatic qualification.
Watford amassed 88 points with two games left to play in the championship season.
Troost-Ekong’s performances in the Watford defensive setup means the hornets let in goals in only 28 games out of 44.
Two other Nigerians, Isaac Success and Tom Dele Bashiru are part of Watford Fc’s promotion.
Watford conclude an outstanding season, having won 17 out of 21 games at home – the best record in the championship.
