Uninvited Super Eagles New Boy Set For Nigeria Debut


After getting his official clearance from FIFA to switch his international allegiance from Germany to Nigeria, Super Eagles new boy Kevin Akpoguma is looking forward to the two international friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia.

The former German U-20 national team captain joined up with the Nigerian team at their Austria camp to familiarize himself with the squad but, his expected clearance came through from FIFA, and he is now in line to make his debut.

The TSG Hoffenheim defender is excited to make the switch and join up with the team.

“I am happy to be with Nigeria. It’s a great experience to be with the guys. Everyone is very nice.”

Kevin is born to a German mother and a Nigerian father and has represented Germany at the U16, U17, U18, U19, and U20 teams, featuring in more than 60 games.

” I am looking forward to winning the two friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia; then we are preparing for qualification in November. I am excited to be here.”

The super eagles will go up against Algeria first on October 9 at the Jacques Lehman Arena in Austria before facing Tunisia on the 13th.
