The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation in partnership with Flovale has taken steps to fulfill the revelation by the World Rugby Federation labelling the country as one of the fastest-growing rugby nations in the world.
At an event held in Lagos on June 25, 2024, Flovale and the NRFF led by President Ademola Are signed a memorandum of understanding on strategies to elevate Rugby in Nigeria.
The partnership involves sponsorships and other innovative strategies to take Nigerian rugby forward. Maximizing the sport’s commercial potential is another key objective for Flovale.
The plan outlines eight vital strategic objectives, including building high-performing national teams and improved training environments.
It also targets transforming the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation into a world-class national sports organization.
After the MOU signing ceremony, the NRFF’s two new logos were unveiled to signify a new era for Nigerian rugby.

Mr Aare outlined the federation’s ambitious plans to cultivate a fanbase spanning primary, secondary, and university levels to establish rugby clubs nationwide.
According to the International Rugby Federation in 2023, Nigeria ranks sixth among the world’s fastest-growing rugby nations.
Expressing confidence, Are believes the partnership would propel the sport to greater heights.
Meanwhile, Azeez Ladipo, General Manager of Rugby, shared insights into the NRFF’s ongoing efforts to introduce rugby to at least 10 Nigerian states, with plans for further expansion.
Furthermore, Azeez shared that 40 schools in Lagos State have already embraced the sport. Additionally, Azeez revealed that the National Rugby Championship begins on 26 July in Ogun State.
Ogun state is the host state for the South-West region.
