Defending champion Filllou Oostende has strengthened its roster with the addition of 26-year-old American-Nigerian swingman E.J. Anosike.
The 199cm tall player joins the team from SM Beermen in the Filipino PBA league, where he had a impressive start to the season, averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in just two matches.
Anosike’s signing is a significant boost to Oostende’s lineup, given his extensive experience playing professionally on three different continents – Europe, Asia, and North America – in seven different countries. He has previously played for teams in Canada, China, France, Korea, and Belgium, as well as in the NBA G League.
The Nigerian Senior National Team regular has had a remarkable career, earning the Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award Finalist award in 2022. He graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2022 and is now in his third season in professional basketball.
Anosike’s versatility and scoring ability will be a valuable asset to Oostende, which is looking to defend its title in the Pro Basketball League. His addition to the team is expected to make an immediate impact, and fans are eagerly awaiting his debut.
“E.J. Anosike is a talented player with a lot of experience playing at a high level,” said a team spokesperson. “We are excited to have him join our team and contribute to our success this season.”
Anosike’s signing is the latest move in Oostende’s efforts to build a strong team capable of competing for championships. With his addition, the team is looking forward to a successful season and a strong defense of its title.
