Nigeria’s undefeated WBC Africa champion, Oluwatosin Kajawa, is set to challenge Lewis Edmondson for the Commonwealth light-heavyweight title on March 1 at the Bournemouth International Centre.
The fight will be live on TNT Sports as part of Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions ‘Collision on the Coast card, which represents Kejawa’s first shot at a major title since claiming the WBC Africa belt.

Edmondson (10-0, 3 KOs), who holds the Commonwealth crown, expressed confidence ahead of the bout.
“He’s a good fighter; wish the best to him,” the 29-year-old Briton said at the press conference.
“But the way I’m performing, I’ve had ongoing camps, I’ve had long camps, I’ve had long notice. I don’t believe anybody can beat me, so good luck to him.”
The 23-year-old Nigerian (11-0, 5 KOs) offered a measured response to his opponent’s bold prediction.
“He has the power, speed and everything, but let’s wait and see,” Kejawa said.
The Lagos-born boxer took to Instagram to express his excitement, posting, “Starting the year with a great fight opportunity. Will be fought on the 1st of March at Bournemouth live on TNT for the Commonwealth title. Let gooooo #teamnigeria.”
Kejawa returns to the ring following an impressive points victory over Adam Cieslak (60-54) at the Brentwood Centre, Essex last July, his first fight after a seven-month layoff due to a hand injury.
“It was a great fight, and it felt good to be back after seven months out. I had the opportunity to knock him out, but I just wanted to get the rounds in to get back fully fit as it’s been months since I fought last.” he told PUNCH Sports Extra after that fight.
The Commonwealth title bout represents a significant step up in competition for Kejawa.
He has shown steady progression since turning professional, with five of his 11 victories coming by knockout.
