Victor Osimhen’s brace helped leaders, Galatasary secure a 2-1 win over Rizespor in the Turkish League.
The first goal came in the 47th minute when things were looking tough for the defending Turkish champs.
Osimhen timed his jump to meet a pinpoint cross from Przemysław Frankowski and powered a header beyond the keeper to give Galatasaray the lead.
Minutes later, Rizespor struck back in the 54th minute. Ali Sowe capitalized on a perfect assist from David Akintola, finishing inside the box to level the score.
But in the dying minutes, the Nigerian stepped up again with another textbook header, sealing the win for Galatasaray.
Victor Osimhen’s brace takes him to 24 goals and assists in 24 games in Süper Lig and Europa League.
He has 14 goals and four assists in 18 Süper Lig games while scoring five goals and one assist in six Europa League games
With this result, Galatasaray grabs three crucial points and leads the Süper Lig with 63 points, keeping a six-point lead over Fenerbahce.
Meanwhile, Rizespor remains in 12th place with 27 points on the Süper Lig table.
