A game-leading 23 points, five steals, and six assists from Caleb Agada secured a third straight win for the perfect Dtigers at the 2025 Afrobasket qualifiers in Libya.
The perfect Dtigers are now through to the 2026 Afrobasket with a 77-62 win over Cape Verde.
Nigeria started the final qualifying window 0-3 at the bottom of the table and went undefeated in Libya.
The 2nd quarter performance made all the difference with the D’tigers winning 26-7 before another 16-8 win in the 4th quarter.
Cape Verde had no chance in the game with Nigeria recording the longest time leading at 36:46.
With the win, Nigeria finished second in Group B(9pts) after winning three of three games and a +7 difference.
Despite losing all three games, Cape Verde finished first, the same points as Nigeria and a better points difference.
Earlier in the qualifiers, a 32-8 run in the 4th quarter helped D’Tigers make a double-digit win(87-67) over Uganda.
Also, host Libya fell to Nigeria, 70-75 in the first game of the final qualifying window.
Meanwhile, all teams in Group B have qualified for the Afrobasket main tournament in Angola with the extra spot coming from having the best 4th finisher in all the groups.
