Josh Okogie rips Tunisia apart, scoring from 12/19 attempts, and he was 6/6 from the free-throw line.
D’tigers went on a 10-0 run in the first two minutes of the first quarter to record the biggest scoring lead.
The first quarter ended 29-16 to stamp D’tigers’ powerful start.
Also, the team didn’t relent, spending 39:33 minutes out of the 40 minutes in the lead with the biggest lead of 26 points.
Furthermore, Nigeria outplayed defending champions, Tunisia, in almost every stat line in the game.
D’tigers turned good defense into points, scoring 17 points from turnovers and 16 fast-break points. The D’Tigers dominated in second-chance points (9-4), and the bench delivered 25 points.
Meanwhile, the third quarter proved decisive as D’Tigers outscored Tunisia 20–14, widening the gap to 68–47.
The last quarter ended 19–19 as Nigeria’s dominance in the earlier stages ensured there was no way back for Tunisia.
D’tigers next play Cameroon in the last group game and a battle to finish top of the group.
