The Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Technical Study Group has released the CAF official Best XI, spotlighting players who delivered standout performances across the tournament.
Senegal, the champions, and runners-up Morocco each place four representatives, while Nigeria’s bronze-medal finish earns three spots.
Super Eagles stars Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen were named in the team, recognizing their standout performances as Nigeria secured third place in the competition.

In goal, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou (Bono) anchors the team after a rock-solid run, conceding very few goals en route to the final.
The defence features a solid back four, with Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui providing width and energy from full-back positions. At centre-back, Calvin Bassey and Moussa Niakhaté stood out for their composure, strength, and leadership at the heart of defence.
In midfield, Senegal’s Idrissa Gueye and Pape Gueye offer energy and control, complemented by Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, whose three goals and four assists made him one of the competition’s most influential figures.
Furthermore, the attacking trio is led by Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, whose goals and all-around performances once again confirmed his status as one of Africa’s most lethal forwards. Tournament MVP Senegal’s Sadio Mané and Morocco’s Brahim Díaz, the tournament’s top scorer, provide support on the flanks.
Despite his key role in Nigeria’s campaign, midfielder Alex Iwobi missed out on the CAF selection.
