Team Nigeria at the Ultimate Championship ended day one with a silver, a semi final finsih and a failure to start in the 4X100m mixed relay.
Tobi Amusan finished 2nd in the women’s 100mH final at the World Ultimate Championship in Budapest.
She clocked 12.34s, finishing behind Masai Russell, who won in 12.22s. Amusan takes home $75,000 for her runner-up finish.
Once again, Amusan produced a strong performance to secure second place, finishing ahead of Dutch star Nadine Visser, who clocked 12.39 seconds.
Three other athletes were ahead after five barriers, but Tobi’s top-end speed brought her to 2nd place.
The Semi-Final Battle
Tobi Amusan qualified for the final of the women’s 100mH at the World Ultimate Championship in Budapest, finishing 2nd in her semifinal with a time of 12.49s.
The former world record holder was just edged out by a quick-starting Devynne Charlton, who won in 12.45s.
Meanwhile, Ella Onojuvwevwo bowed out in the women’s 400m semifinal, finishing 6th in heat 1 with 50.50s.
Nigeria At Ultimate Championship
Also, Nigeria recorded a no-show in the 4x100m mixed relay, as the United States won the race.
Nigeria gained an automatic qualification from the World Relays in Botswana, but missed the chance to be in Budapest.
Rosemary Nwankwo and Miracle Ezechukwu were allegedly denied visas to be in Budapest.
