The Kingdom of Morocco has been selected to host the headquarters of the Africa Clubs Association (ACA), beating out bids from South Africa and Algeria.
The decision was made during a board meeting of the ACA on Friday, with Morocco receiving a unanimous nod due to its quality infrastructure and projection of football development in the continent over the next 50 years.
According to ACA Vice President, Paul Bassey of Nigeria, “After comparing the bids before us, we were unanimous that Morocco will give us a better deal due to quality infrastructure and the projection of football development in the continent in the next fifty years.”
The ACA headquarters will be located in Rabat, in close proximity to the offices of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
Following the board meeting, the ACA dispatched a congratulatory letter to the President of the Morocco Football Federation, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa.
A delegation of ACA board members is expected to arrive in Morocco this weekend to formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and finalize the agreement.
The visit coincides with the draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place on January 27 in Rabat, providing an opportunity for the ACA executive to discuss club-related issues with FIFA, CAF, and national association officials.
