Italian Serie A side Lazio have rejected Brighton & Hove Albion’s approach for Nigeria midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, insisting that the 23-year-old is not for sale.
According to reports, Lazio rejected Brighton’s bid “in clear terms” that Dele-Bashiru is unavailable for transfer in January or at the end of the season.
This development comes just days after Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani dismissed interest from Serie A giants Juventus in the former Manchester City academy graduate.
Dele-Bashiru has impressed in Italy since joining Lazio on loan from Turkish side Hatayspor last summer, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 17 appearances this season.
Lazio considers Fisayo Dele-Bashiru crucial to their long-term plans and is unwilling to let him go, despite Brighton’s interest in the midfielder.
Brighton reportedly views Fisayo as an ideal fit for manager Fabian Hürzeler’s tactical setup, but Lazio’s stance on the player’s availability remains unchanged. 
Fisayo has established himself as a key player for Lazio, particularly under coach Marco Baroni, who has deployed him in more advanced positions to great effect.
The former Manchester City youngster is finding Serie A a perfect fit for his football growth.
A move in the summer might be on offer as he continues to drop top performances in Italy.
