Kelechi Iheanacho returns to England for a second stint in the English Championship.
Middlesbrough has announced the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho, 28, who will be on loan from Sevilla until the end of the season.
Iheanacho joined the La Liga club after the expiration of his Leicester contract in the summer but only started five league games.
The Super Eagles star endured a tough start to life at Sevilla after a free transfer in the summer.
The forward could only muster 401 minutes in La Liga this season due to his failure to adjust to Garcia Pimienta’s style.
He has three goals from 11 appearances in Spain and all from Cup competitions.
Greek clubs, PAOK and Panathinaikos, were the early runners for his signature before a U-turn to Middlesbrough.
Iheanacho Returns To England
Before joining Leicester City, he helped the team achieve promotion back to the Premier League last season.
He is returning to the championship on loan with Middlesbrough for the rest of the season.
In over 300 career appearances Kelechi has scored 85 goals and on the international stage, he has scored 15 goals in 57 games.
After emerging as the best player at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup, Kelechi started at Man City as an 18-year-old.
He won a League Cup at Manchester City, before joining Leicester in 2017.
