Debutants, Edo Queens has two entries, Emem Essien and Cordeila Odoma in the CAF Women’s Champions League team of the tournament.
Following the conclusion of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024 group stages, CAF’s Technical Study Group (TSG) has officially released the best-performing eleven (11) players.
The CAF TSG comprises various African football experts, including coaches, analysts, and technical advisors.
Emem Essien is the driving force for Edo Queens in the tournament so far, while Cordeila Odoma helps knit the defense together.
Four AS FAR players headline the Best 11, two each from tournament debutants Edo Queens and FC Masar, while Mamelodi Sundowns, University of the Western Cape (UWC), and TP Mazembe make up the final 11.
AS FAR goalkeeper Khadija ER-Rmichi, with just one goal conceded in the group stages, holds the goalkeeper position.
AS FAR’s Nouhaila Benzina, alongside Shadia Nankya of FC Masar, make up the central pairing. At the same time, Edo Queens’ Cordeila Odoma and Karabo Dhlamini of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies complete the back four as full-backs.
UWC’s highly experienced Amogelang Motau anchors the midfield, just behind the attacking pair of AS FAR’s Sanaa Mssoudy and Sandrine Niyonkuru of FC Masar.

Emem Essien Leads The Attack
The attacking trio is led by Edo Queens’ lethal Emem Essien, who is assisted by AS FAR teenage-star, Doha El Madani and Lacho Marta of TP Mazembe.
Meanwhile, the CAF Technical Study Group also confirmed the best-performing players and coaches for the group stages.

Furthermore, the tournament enters the exciting knockout stages on Tuesday, 19 November. Edo Queens takes on TP Mazembe at 16h00 Local Time in the first Semi-final. Additionally, former champions AS FAR take on FC Masar at 19h00 in the second semi-final.
