Abia Warriors captain Augustine Njoku has appealed to the team’s fans for patience and understanding as the team struggles to find consistency in their performances.
The Umuahia-based team has been experiencing a patchy run of form, with inconsistent results that have left fans frustrated and worried. Njoku, however, believes that the team is working hard to turn things around and has urged the fans to bear with them.
Njoku Seeking A Turn Around For Abia Warriors
“We know that our performances have not been consistent, and we’re working hard to change that,” Njoku said in an interview with the club’s media. “We are a work-in-progress, and we need the fans to be patient with us. We’re doing everything we can to improve our game and get the results we want.”
Abia Warriors will face Niger Tornadoes in their Matchday 16 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday, and Njoku is optimistic that the team can get a positive result.
“We have been working hard in training, and we’re confident that we can get a good result against Niger Tornadoes,” Njoku said. “We just need the fans to come out and support us, and I’m sure we can get the three points we need.”
Message To Abia Warriors Fans
The team’s inconsistency has been a major concern for fans, who have been calling for more consistency and better results. Njoku, however, believes that the team is on the right track and that better days are ahead.
“My message to Abia Warriors fans is just to, first of all plead with them because of the level of inconsistency in the team now. Talking about getting results, I’m pleading with the fans to still give us a little time because, the team as I used to say is a work-in-progress so, I believe going forward, the four games remaining in the first round I believe they are going to see a new Abia Warriors. So, I urge them to still come out en masse to support and cheer us to victory on Sunday”, he said.
Abia Warriors will be without the services of Daniel Ekpo, who is nursing a knock, while Odinaka Anaeto is out with a toe injury. Chinemerem ‘Meme’ Okike remains sidelined with a thigh injury.
