Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s director, has categorically denied rumors of a January transfer for Victor Osimhen, stating that no club has approached them about activating the striker’s €75m release clause.
“I already said many times that nobody has talked to us. Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. I think a lot has been said about this, nothing is happening,” Manna told DAZN.
Manna’s statement comes amidst reports of interest from top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. However, the Napoli director remains adamant that Osimhen is not for sale.
“We made a lot of investments over the summer, if it should be needed, we would be ready to make more. We are concentrated on our campaign, if there is an opportunity to improve the squad, then we will take it, but that is not our priority right now,” Manna added.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in impressive form, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions. His contributions have helped the Turkish giants maintain a six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig.
Manna’s comments suggest that Napoli are not willing to sell Osimhen, at least not in January. The club’s focus is on their current campaign, and they are not actively seeking to sell their prized asset.
When asked about the possibility of Osimhen’s return to Napoli, Manna did not provide a clear answer. However, his statement implies that the club is not planning to recall the striker from his loan spell at Galatasaray.
As the transfer window approaches, Napoli’s stance on Osimhen’s future will be closely watched. However, for now, it seems that the Nigerian striker will remain at Galatasaray, at least until the end of the season.
