AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze will be sidelined for approximately a month due to a hamstring injury sustained during last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Roma.
The Nigerian international fell to the ground clutching his hamstring in the first half and was subsequently replaced by Tammy Abraham in the 62nd minute.
An MRI scan revealed a lesion of the left femoral biceps, and Chukwueze will undergo re-examination in ten days. He is expected to miss the entire month of January, which includes several crucial matches for AC Milan.
Chukwueze’s injury will likely keep him out of the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against Juventus, as well as league matches against Cagliari, Como, Juventus, and Parma.
The 25-year-old’s return to action is tentatively targeted for the Milan derby on February 2, although this remains uncertain.
Chukwueze’s injury is a setback for both the player and AC Milan, as he has struggled to find form this season, scoring just three goals and providing one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions.
The injury may also impact Chukwueze’s rumored transfer to Arsenal, who had identified him as a potential replacement for the injured Bukayo Saka.
