Nigerian sprinters Kanyinsola Ajayi and Israel Okon made the top three at the NCAA national division one championship.
Running for Auburn University at the nationals, Kanyinsola Ajayi(6.52) and Israel Okon(6.52) finished second and third to claim silver and bronze in a race won by Jordan Anthony (Arkansas) in 6.49.

Ajayi, Okon Finish Top Three: Road To Final
To get to the final, Kanyinsola ran the third fastest time of the day in the 60m preliminaries to qualify for Saturday’s final (6.48).
Ajayi broke his school record with 6.48 in the 60m preliminaries, finishing third overall with the fourth fastest time in the world this year.

Meanwhile, Israel Okon won his heat in the 60m dash to advance to Saturday’s finals (6.54).
Israel Okon is in his first season as a freshman in the NCAA and he’s already showing why he is special.
Ajayi and Okon finish top three to help Auburn University men’s track & field team finishes third overall at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

In the SEC indoor championship, Okon equaled the world junior record, 6.51 first set by Britain’s Mark Lewis-Francis in 2001.
The time also tied Ajayi’s School Record before the latter raised the bar with .6.48 to regain the Auburn University record.
