Victor Osimhen hit his seventh brace of the season as Galatasaray edged Fenerbahce 2-1 in the Turkish Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.
Going into the game, Osimhen had questions about his ability to step up against the big teams in the league.
He has only scored once against a top team, Besiktas, and is firing blanks against Fenerbache and Trabzonspor despite leading the scorers chart with 20 goals.
The last league game against Fernebache didn’t answer the doubts, but he got a second chance in the cup competition.
In the 10th minute, Osimhen opened scoring with a stunning strike after receiving a layoff from Barış Alper Yılmaz.
He then doubled Galatasaray’s lead from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, ensuring his team went into halftime with a comfortable two-goal advantage.
After completing his brace, Victor Osimhen was substituted for Alvaro Morata in the 86th minute.
The 2-1 win sets the stage for the Yellow-Reds to push for a domestic double this season.
Galatasaray currently leads the Turkish Super Lig table.
Also, Osimhen hits his 7th brace of the season, his first in the Turkish Super Cup from two appearances.
With his brace, he has scored 28 goals and has 5 Assists in his 32 Appearances for the Club in all competitions.
