D’Tigress and Afrobasket MVP, Amy Okonkwo’s WNBA dream continues after getting close twice but falling short.
The Dallas Wings have signed forward Amy Okonkwo to a second seven-day hardship contract. Alongside Christyn Williams, Okonkwo was immediately available for the game against the Atlanta Dream.
During her first 7-day contract, Okonkwo fared well in three games, recording 11.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 16.7 minutes per contest.

The second contract completes a full circle moment for the D’tigress star, who was previously on a training contract with the Dallas Wings in 2021, but didn’t make the roster.
A second contract didn’t come easily as the Wings released Okonkwo on Thursday, but it was a no-brainer for the Dallas Wings to bring her back with the number of injuries on the roster.
Okonkwo’s shining moment in the WNBA came vs. Golden State: 10 PTS (4/6 FG, 2/3 3PT), 3 REB in 9 MIN. Those are her first WNBA threes.
However, her best game was against the Connecticut Sun, the team that dropped her after making the camp before the current season began.
Amy recorded a career high 14pts in 23 minutes, adding 1-rebound, 2 assists, and 2 steals against the Connecticut Sun.
Overall, her 2025 WNBA season reads four games played: 11.3 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 18.8 MPG, 33,3% 3PT so far.

The Dallas Wings are currently bottom of the Western Conference standings with only nine wins so far.
The next seven days will see Amy Okonkwo’s WNBA dream come alive again.
