Green Falcons captain Blessing Aladeyelu, alongside 18 other players, arrived in Canada to participate in their first-ever International Rugby League’s IRL Women’s World Series.
The Nigeria national women’s Rugby League team arrived in Canada and will battle Ireland in the first game of the IRL World Series.
Also, the Green Falcons will play against Fiji or host Canada if they defeat Ireland in the first game.
The Green Falcons qualified for the IRL women’s Rugby League World Series after becoming the Middle-East and Africa champions, defeating Ghana home and away, then defeating Kenya at home and drawing away in Kenya, but went on to qualify.
Their first match will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Terry Fox Stadium, Brampton. Nigeria will open the tournament against Ireland at 3:30 pm.
Additionally, the Final and the third-place matches will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Terry Fox Stadium, Brampton.
Furthermore, the final will be between the winners of the first matches.
This is Nigeria’s inaugural participation in the International Rugby League women’s World Series.

Meanwhile, the Green Falcons camped for three weeks and played two International test matches against the Leopardess of Ghana at the Alaro City international Rugby pitch.
In the first match, the ladies won the first game by 40 points to Nil and 24 points to 8 points in the second match on Saturday, October 11, 2025, to round up their preparatory matches.
