Two Super Eagles stars alongside Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi top the 2025 AFCON most-valuable XI.
The list features players from eight of the 24 African countries participating in the 2025 AFCON.
Nigeria, Cameroon, and Senegal have two players on the list, while Morocco, Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire have one player each.
The Moneyball Stars of African Football
African Player of the Year, Achraf Hakimi, is the most valuable player at the AFCON, with a worth of $80m. He is followed by Victor Osimhen and Cameroon’s Bryan Mbeumo in second with $75m.
Senegal’s Yehvann Diouf is the least valuable star in the African Most Valuable XI at €9m.
According to Transfermarkt, the 2025 AFCON most valuable XI costs $559m as the feats of African football gather momentum.
The AFCON Most Valuable XI Set Up
Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen leads the line. Egypt’s Omar Marmoush and Cameroon’s Bryan Mbeumo are the two wingers with both playing for Manchester clubs.
The midfield features Ademola Lookman, Carlos Baleba, and Pape Matar Sarr in a 4-3-3 system. Baleba has endured a difficult season so far at Brighton, but he remains the most valuable midfielder at AFCON.
Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi leads the back four with Senegalese goalkeeper, Yehvann Diouf protecting the goal.
