16-year-old Jared Ejiasan has broken the U18 World Record in the men’s 60mH at the French U18 and U20 Championships in Val-de-Reul, storming to victory in a blistering 7.43s.
The youngster broke the previous World Record of 7.46s set by Australia’s Sasha Zhoya in 2019.
Based in France, Jared started the year with 7.57s, an African Indoor Record on January 17, at the Temple Run League Eacpac event, and he is now the fastest athlete ever over the U18 barriers.
Jared won the French U18 Championships in the 110 Hurdles in 2025 and was 2nd in the Long Jump. He lives, trains, and competes in France.
Jared Ejiasan is a Nigerian running for the AC Nord Val d’Oise club but plans to switch allegiance to France.
The French national title went to Orfeo Chandler (Paris Université Club) in 7″67 at the championship.
In the last year, Nigeria has gained three athletes with big potential: Kelly Ufodiama and Jessica Oji.
Furthermore, the country has also lost athletes with huge potential: Favour Ofili and Favour Ashe.
