Kanyinsola Ajayi, on breaking the National and equaling the NCAA 60m Record at the SEC Indoor Championships, clocking 6.45s to win gold.
Previously, Christian Coleman held the NCAA 60m Record from the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station.
Additionally, the 6.45s broke the Nigerian record of 6.48s set by Deji Aliu in 1999 and tied the African 60m Indoor Record set in 1999.

In the SEC finals, Ajayi beat Jelani Watkins, who ran 6.53s, while Israel Okon, his compatriot and Auburn teammate, finished with Bronze in 6.54s.
Earlier in the championships, Kanyinsola Ajayi (Auburn) clocked 6.52s to lead the men’s 60m prelims at the SEC Indoor Championships.
As a freshman in 2024, Kanyinsola Ajayi became the third Tiger SEC Champion in the men’s 60m dash, claiming gold, winning in a time of 6.60s during the final day of competition at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Two years later, Kanyinsola has now won his second 60m title differently, equalling the NCAA record.
