A total of 20 players have arrived at the Super Eagles AFCON 2027 qualifiers camp in Uyo ahead of their opening clash against Madagascar.
The first training session will take place on Tuesday at 6 pm as coach Eric Chelle kicks off preparation for the 2027 AFCON.

Nigeria will host Madagascar’s Barea at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Friday, 25th September, before flying to Bissau to play the Wild Dogs in a Day 2 encounter on Tuesday, 29th September.
However, talisman striker Victor Osimhen has been ruled out due to a recurring injury and replaced by Coventry City striker Taiwo Awoniyi

Meanwhile, three players are expected at noon in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers camp: captain Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, and Stanley Nwabali.
Furthermore, the last time Nigeria faced Madagascar, the Eagles lost by 2-0 in an AFCON group stage game.
Led by coach Corentin Martins, Madagascar arrived in Uyo on Tuesday ahead of the encounter.
Martins and his squad landed in Nigeria after inviting 24 players to camp, with Troyes goalkeeper Zacharie Boucher initially named but reportedly dropped for comments he made in 2018 denouncing Madagascar and claiming to be only French.
