The new and improved Dambe Warriors League finally returned to Kano this past Sunday.
An overflowing crowd at the Ado Bayero Square enjoyed nine battles featuring the world’s greatest Dambe fighters throughout the afternoon and early evening.

Fans, brand ambassadors, and state officials witnessed improvements in the Dambe Warriors’ production capabilities.
From an elevated sand ring to improved lighting and camera utilization, the Dambe Warriors League executive team demonstrated that they are willing to invest not only in its’ warriors and the communities they come from, but also in the production and content distribution for those proud Nigerians viewing on AIT or Facebook and YouTube livestreams.
ZAYYANU’S Struggle Continues In The Lightweight Division
In the Lightweight division, top-ranked KURMA fell at the hands of veteran KUDAWA by a score of 87-84, while YAR MAGE was out to prove that his defeat earlier this year was a fluke with an 87-84 thrashing of NASSARAWA.
Meanwhile, Season 01 champion and Season 02 runner-up ZAYYANU continues to struggle after getting thoroughly dominated by a resurgent, and newly #1 ranked, CHINDO by a score of 88-84.
Among the men in the Middleweight category, RAMADAN returned to form by crushing DAN NIGERIA by an uneven score of 89-81 to regain his home atop the rankings.

Arguably though, the most exciting matchup came between two young upstarts, DOGON MESSI and SHAABAN, with MESSI narrowly defeating his opponent by a score of 87-86 in a result that had many fans clamoring for more.
Lastly, much to the sellout crowd’s delight, fan-favorite ZAZU continued his surprising winning streak with an 88-85 over a disappointing YASANDA who seems overmatched this Season 03 by his fellow warriors.
Dambe Circuit 13: The Battle Of The Heavyweights
Not to be outdone, the heavyweight monsters treated the crowd to thrilling moments.
DOGO MAITAKWASARA regained his #1 ranking with a hard-fought victory over newcomer TARASA 87-85.
Season 01 runner-up DUTSE bested Season 02 runner-up ALI KANIN BELLO by a narrow 86-84 margin, while YANSANDA eliminated SHAMSU by TKO.

After the fight, it was discovered that SHAMSU had been involved in unsanctioned Dambe fights, meaning he would be subject to discipline before Circuit Fight 14.
Dambe Warriors League adheres to strict rules to prioritize the health and safety of the combatants and does not tolerate behavior that would jeopardize anyone.
The city of Kano was alive with energy that accompanied Circuit Fight 13, showcasing how impactful the Dambe Warriors League is from both an economic and cultural standpoint to the communities they visit.
