Tobi Amusan will return to the hurdles for the first time since the Paris 2024 Olympics at the Xiamen Diamond League meet.
The Xiamen Diamond League meet will be her first 100m Hurdles race in almost eight months.
Amusan Returns To The Hurdles
The world record holder in women’s 100 m hurdles will be racing on Saturday (April 26th) at the Xiamen Diamond League, her first 100m Hurdles in 2025.
The women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League pits world indoor 60m hurdles champion and world record-holder Devynne Charlton of The Bahamas against world 100m hurdles record-holder Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, Jamaica’s two-time world champion Danielle Williams, USA’s early world leader Grace Stark, and home star Wu Yanni.
Last month in Kingston, Jamaica, Amusan competed and won the 100m event of the Velocity Fest, running a SB of 11.28.
She beat 100m specialists, Serena Cole, to 2nd in 11.45s, and Anthonique Strachan finished in 3rd with 11.46s.
Amusan returns to the hurdles at the Xiamen Diamond League meet by 1.24 pm (Nigerian time).
Meanwhile, Amusan is a three-time champion of the 100mh at the Diamond League, winning consecutively from 2021-2023.
Overall, 10 world record-holders and 23 reigning global individual champions lead the star-studded fields for the first Wanda Diamond League meeting of the year in Xiamen on Saturday (26).
The Diamond League is an annual series of elite track and field athletics competitions comprising 14 of the best invitational athletics meetings.
