The Osimhen assist against Cagliari in Serie A is the talk of the football world, but we have seen it before.
During the summer, a video of Victor Osimhen flicking a loose ball while joggling the ball through four defenders on an Astroturf pitch during a kickabout in Lagos, the consensus on social media was that he couldn’t replicate such in a professional setting.

Osimhen was in Lagos and having fun with his friends during the summer. Fast forward to the 12th game of the Serie A season against Calgary, Victor Osimhen reproduced the magical moment.
Nine touches within five defenders en route a pass to teammate Kvaratskhelia to score Napoli’s winning goal, and it dawned on those who remember that it was not a fluke in the first instance.

Osimhen’s assist was so good that everyone forgot he scored a goal earlier.
A header in the 69th minute put Napoli ahead in the game against Cagliari before the magic assist happened.
The Osimhen assist and goal puts the Eagles striker on seven goals and two assist in 12 Serie A games.
The African footballer of the year has found good form since winning the CAF awards. Earlier in the week, Osimhen scored to send Napoli to the second round of the UEFA Champions League.
The goal means Victor Osimhen is the only Napoli player to score in each of his first four Serie A matches against two different teams in the three points per win era (since 1994/95): Cagliari and Sampdoria (between 2021 and 2023).
