A boxing night belonging to an award-winning movie in Saudi Arabia: a fall and a rise, a win and a sobering moment to remember what was lost in the past, defining the Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga fight.
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua overcame two shock first-round knockdowns to deliver a stunning second-round knockout victory over Kristian Prenga on Saturday night, capping off a deeply emotional ring return in Saudi Arabia.
It’s AJ’s first fight since he was in a car accident in Nigeria last December. In that accident, he lost two of his team members, whom he called brothers.

Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga: A Tale of Two Rounds
The former heavyweight champion was sensationally hit by a huge uppercut from underdog Prenga 20 seconds into the opening round.
For onlookers, it looked a little too soon to come back into the ring after a loss in 2024 and a recent fatal accident.
The notion seemed to be true as Joshua was once again under the power of Prenga, who has 20 knockouts in 20 fights, going down for the second time.
While down, but not out, Joshua produced one of the greatest escapes of his career, despite his reputation for having a glass jaw.
Subsequently, Joshua unleashed his right hand with the final shot, sending Albanian Prenga down to the canvas, forcing the referee to end the contest in the second round.

An Emotional Win
Anthony Joshua was fighting for the first time since surviving the December car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of his close friends Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele.
“It’s more than punch power. That was spirit, that was Latz, that was Sina, that was the families. It hurts to even talk about it. It has been tough,” Joshua, 36, said in the post-fight ring interview
He almost shed a tear before stepping away from the microphone, adding: “It’s my brothers. I don’t want to talk about it.”
