Nigerian teenage sensation Seun Ogunsakin continued his historic US Open run with a dominant 6-3, 6-0 victory over Poland’s Tymon Litwic in the first qualifying round.
The 69th-ranked Aurum Tennis Academy star has now won at least one match at every Grand Slam event he has entered this year, solidifying a remarkable 2026 breakout season.
The Nigerian, ranked 69th in the world, has won all his R1 matches at the two Grand Slams he has played in, reaching the Main Draw at the Wimbledon event in July.
Meanwhile, Seun Ogunsakin’s US Open first-round win over Poland’s Tymon Litwic 6-3, 6-0 secures a berth in the final round.
After a nervy start to the match with both players exchanging service breaks, the Nigerian teenage sensation gathered the required momentum to earn a second break and hold serve to win the opening set 6-3.

In Paris, Seun made history as the first Nigerian on record to play in the qualifying rounds of the Roland Garros Junior Championships.
He took a step further at Wimbledon, becoming the first Nigerian in 36 years to compete in the Wimbledon singles draw and the country’s first singles representative at any Grand Slam tournament in more than a decade.
The Young sensation earned his place in the main draw through an impressive qualifying campaign. He defeated British wildcard Archie Gray before overpowering Canada’s top-ranked junior, Benjamin Azar, to seal his place at the Championships.
Furthermore, Seun, alongside Botswana’s Ntungamili Raguin, reached the Boys’ Doubles Semi-Finals at the Wimbledon Junior Championships to mark a remarkable run.
